OUR MISSION
To limit government from eroding our liberties, particularly our Second Amendment freedoms, two ways:
1) By defeating so called 'gun control' bills before they become law.
2) And supporting the passage of bills which strengthen our Second Amendment liberties.
We do this by effectively convincing legislators to do the right thing.

STILL MORE VICTORIES in 2022 ! ! !

On April 13, 2022 the Firearm Professionals again trekked up to the State Legislature and secured 3 more victories, defeating a Red Flag bill in the Senate Committee, and successfully moved two pro-gun bills, HB37 (Constitutional Carry) and HB43 (Sanctuary State) through the House Committee on Administration of Criminal Justice. Without a doubt, it was our physical presence in the Committee rooms, plus the avalanche of emails from our many supporters, which include FPofLa members plus the hard-working Range Safety Officers at the Honeyisland Shooting Range in Pearl River. It takes a lot to move some of these politicians, but WE DID IT!! CONGRATS, guys and gals ! !

We had great wins in the State Legislature on April 28th, 2021. Above you see just a few of our members and their HdfNola.org friends who came to the legislature in Baton Rouge and won. CONGRATS to them !

On April 19, 2021 the Firearm Professionals went to the State Legislature and secured a victory in a 3-2 vote for Senate Bill 118 on Constitutional Carry. The group and their allies traveled to Baton Rouge in 2020 to fight for a set of four laws that were being debated and voted on in a committee of the State Legislature. Despite all the virus concerns we still filled the hearing room and got all four bills passed!
Below you see the FIREARM PROFESSIONALS, in purple, and their friends in red, who went to Baton Rouge in May of 2019 and helped pass two PRO Self Defense bills out of committee, and also defeated two terrible ANTI Self Defense bills.

Over 30 FP of La members attended our FREE dinner meeting where they got burgers at "Big Mike's Sport's Bar." Attendees heard from Representatives Sherman Mack and Blake Miguez of the State Legislature. Meeting with representatives from the legislature - and then SHOWING UP wearing one of our T Shirts when the legislature votes on proposed laws - is how you protect your rights. When politicians see you are motivated and ORGANIZED they will listen to you!
Why did we start this group ?
Did you know that several gun control laws were almost passed by the legislature in 2019?
It was a very close call, but we learned a lesson: The days of sitting back and letting the NRA do all the work are over. The NRA can’t do it alone.
That is why FFL's, gunsmiths, gun shop owners, range safety officers and Citizen Volunteers started this group. We need a local organization to fight bad laws - and pass good ones.
You can help, but NOT with money. This is a 100% volunteer effort, so to repeat, we do not want your money.
